Koretskyi: Ukraine has received guaranteed capacity in the future LNG terminal in Klaipeda

Ukraine has received guaranteed capacity for regasification of liquefied natural gas at a new terminal in Klaipeda (Lithuania).

This was reported by Prime Minister of Ukraine Serhiy Koretskyi, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

“Ukraine has already made a commitment, taken on obligations, and in return has received guaranteed capacity at the new LNG terminal in Klaipeda, which is currently under construction. And as soon as it is put into operation, we will be able to ensure guaranteed gas supplies for the energy stability and security of Ukraine, for which I sincerely thank our partners,” Koretsky said at a press conference with Lithuanian Prime Minister Mindaugas Sinkevičius in Lutsk.

The Prime Minister did not specify the volume of capacity that will go to Ukraine.

Earlier, USM reported that Ukraine is importing American LNG for the first time through a port in Lithuania. Naftogaz and the Lithuanian state energy holding Ignitis Group secured the supply of 90 million cubic meters of LNG from the United States.
