After attacks on ships near Bulgaria, requests for military risk insurance for Ukrainian ports have increased

After new attacks on ships in the Black Sea, insurance brokers are recording an increase in the number of requests for war risk coverage for calls to Ukrainian ports.
This was reported by the CEO of Profinsure (Marine Insurance Brokers) Viktor Borovyi on LinkedIn.
According to him, the company is currently receiving the largest number of requests for EWRI (Extended War Risk Insurance) for Ukrainian ports on the Black Sea.
There is also a significant demand for war risk insurance for ships heading to Danube ports via the Bystre and Sulina channels.
Borovyi linked this to the recent attacks on ships in the Black Sea. In particular, on the night of October 13, two vessels were attacked in the exclusive economic zone of Bulgaria: the HS DIGNITY sank, and 15 sailors were rescued from the Chelsea 3.
Profinsure noted that the company insures a significant amount of military risks and offers such coverage not only for the Black Sea and Ukrainian ports, but also for the Red Sea and the Strait of Hormuz.
