Polish PGNiG booked capacity of Klaipeda LNG terminal

After the start of a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, the Polish PGNiG reserved the capacity of the LNG terminal in Klaipeda.

Poland also launched the Poland-Lithuania gas pipeline to import up to 2 billion cubic meters of gas per year. Deliveries will begin in May, according to BiznesAlert.

Dates and volumes of the reserve are unknown yet. But the company has confirmed that it is a floating LNG storage unit (FSRU).

Gas supplies through Lithuania are an alternative to Russian imported gas, which Poland will not purchase anymore. The country will not extend the Yamal contract with Russia’s Gazprom.
