The head of Ukrzaliznytsia is resigning and preparing for a new position
The chairman of the board of JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” Oleksandr Kamyshin resigned.
Next, Kamyshin will head the European integration office of Ukrzaliznytsia in Europe. He announced this in his own Telegram channel.
“The railway continues to work according to schedule. And I am resigning. According to a joint decision with Deputy Prime Minister Kubrakov, I will head the European integration office of Ukrzaliznytsia in Europe,” Kamyshin wrote.
Yevgen Lyashchenko, a member of the company’s board, will temporarily perform the duties of the chairman of the board of the UZ.
The Cabinet of Ministers appointed Oleksandr Kamyshin (38 years old) acting chairman of the board of JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” in August 2021. In March, the official announced that his candidacy was approved on a permanent basis.
In 2023, Ukrzaliznytsia suffered UAH 11 billion in losses. In an interview with Forbes, Kamyshin refused to tell how the company reached such a result, and noted that during the war, “business tasks are much less important than state tasks.” It is about free evacuation by the company of 4.5 million Ukrainians during the first months of the war.
