Turkey is working on the continuation of the “grain corridor”
The Istanbul Agreements expire in March. Currently, all parties to the agreement (except russia) are trying to extend the agreement.
Ankara is working hard to extend the validity of the Istanbul Agreements, thanks to which Ukraine exports agricultural products from three ports on the Black Sea.
This was stated by Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu at the UN conference on least developed countries in Qatar, Reuters reports.
“We are working hard on the implementation and further extension of the Black Sea grain agreement,” the minister noted.
He added that he had already discussed the continuation of the initiative with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres.
We will remind you that on March 1, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the russian federation put forward its conditions for the continuation of the export of products from Ukrainian ports within the framework of the “grain agreement”.
The Russian Foreign Ministry said that Moscow would agree to continue the initiative if the interests of its agricultural producers were taken into account.
It is worth noting that the West did not impose direct sanctions against the export of Russian food. Moreover, during the creation of sanctions packages, the EU regularly made exceptions for the export of food products and other goods that fall under the category of humanitarian aid from russian federation. The export of russian grain is affected, if only, by blocking payment, logistics and insurance systems of the terrorist country within the framework of sanctions.
