Ukraine and Moldova have simplified customs control at the border
Ukraine and Moldova will organize joint control at the railway checkpoint. Such a decision will allow to reduce the time of train parking at the border.
On Wednesday, March 22, Ukraine and Moldova signed a protocol on the organization of joint control at the checkpoint “Serpneve 1 – Bessarabka”. A new checkpoint will be set up on the territory of Moldova. This is reported on the website of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development of the Republic of Moldova.
The contract will ensure cargo transit to the ports of Reni, Izmail, Giurgiulesti (Moldova) and Galati (Romania). Also, conducting joint control operations will reduce the time that trains are parked at the state border. It is noted that the document will help eliminate double, and in certain areas, triple control by customs and border authorities.
“Transit through Moldova should be fast. Registration and checks take the most time, so the main purpose of the contract is to facilitate document flow at the border. The railway connection with Reni is always in our field of vision. At the moment, we are waiting for the new border crossing to become operational,” said Maersk Ukraine Ltd General Director Roman Koloyanov.
