Almost 90% of oil exports by rail go through the western border

Over the 11 days of August, Ukraine exported 41.5 thousand tons of oil by rail, of which 89% were transported through western border crossings.

This was reported by  RAIL.insider following an online meeting of representatives of Ukrzaliznytsia with agricultural market participants.

Compared to July, oil export shipments increased by 0.9%, but decreased by 48.2% compared to the same period last year.

The remaining 11% of oil was transported to ports.

Also in August, 70.7 thousand tons of oil cake and meal were exported by rail. Of this volume, 63% were sent through western border crossings, 37% to ports.

Compared to July, oil cake and meal shipments increased by 15.9%, but remained 7.4% lower than in the same period in 2025.
