A Russian serviceman will be tried for the murder of the ship’s captain in Hola Prystan in the Kherson region.
The investigation established that on the evening of November 1, 2022, the accused, while on the embankment of Hola Prystan, shot the captain of the RBT-1 tug “Ryds” with an automatic weapon, the Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office reports.
That day, the ship once again headed from Kherson, carrying people. When attempting to dock, the Russian military opened fire.
Trying to hide the crime, the occupiers spread a fake story about the alleged shelling of the tugboat by the Ukrainian military.
Under the procedural leadership of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office, an indictment was sent to the court against a soldier of the Soviet Union for violation of the laws and customs of war, combined with intentional murder (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
A special pre-trial investigation was carried out by the investigators of the in the Kherson region.
