Boat rowed by Ukrainian veterans found in ocean and repaired (video)
A boat in which Ukrainian and British veterans rowed to raise money for prostheses was found in the ocean.
British and Ukrainian veterans who abandoned their boat while attempting to cross the Atlantic resumed their journey after the vessel was repaired, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reported.
A four-seater boat specially created for the Row4Ukraine project was found in the middle of the ocean. The trip across the Atlantic was supposed to help veterans raise money for prosthetics for Ukrainian soldiers.
The expedition began with the participation of four British and Ukrainian veterans who planned to sail more than 5 thousand kilometers in 50-60 days. However, on the third day, the captain decided to evacuate the crew by helicopter due to a malfunction in the boat, leaving it in the ocean.
The master of the vessel, Dmytro Rezvoy, did not agree to the termination of the journey. So, together with Ivan Havrylko, one of the original participants, found the boat, repaired it and continued the expedition together. Their journey is currently ongoing.
After the project is completed, a documentary film, “Ocean of the Unconquered,” is planned to be released, which will tell about the trials and achievements of the participants.
Earlier, USM reported that Ukrainians raised funds for five Magura V5 sea combat drones for the Defense Intelligence.
