Cannabis was found on a ship in the port of Odesa

In one of the ports of Odesa region, a type of drug was found on board a vessel under a foreign flag.
Drugs were found in the cabin of the captain’s assistant, the police of the Odesa region reports.
“During the pre-departure inspection of the vessel under a foreign flag, border guards of the Izmail detachment found in the cabin a roll and a zip-top bag with a substance of plant origin in a crushed and dried state, similar to cannabis,” the message reads.
Investigators removed the substance and checked it with an express test, which showed the presence of a particularly dangerous drug. The sailor admitted that he kept cannabis for his own use.

The physical evidence was sent to the police for examination, and the man was detained. He faces from 8 to 10 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property. The court chose a preventive measure in the form of house arrest for the suspect.
