Contributions to the Grain from Ukraine program reached almost $190 million

The total amount of announced contributions to the Grain from Ukraine program from its participants is currently almost $190 million.

“More than 30 states and the EU have already announced their financial participation in the humanitarian program Grain from Ukraine”, which was initiated by President Zelenskyy. The total amount of announced contributions is almost 190 million dollars,” said Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba at an online briefing, Ukrinform reports.

He added that Ukraine continues to work on expanding the circle of participating countries that support the humanitarian initiative.

We will remind you that the Grain from Ukraine program for food aid to African and Asian countries was launched on November 26 at the founding International Summit on Food Security.

The project envisages that Ukraine directs part of the harvested wheat to purchase for those countries where there are already problems of hunger. Part of the export grain can be purchased by the states participating in the project. The program aims to provide at least 5 million people with agricultural products by the end of spring 2023.
