EU adopts 15th package of sanctions against Russia
The European Union has adopted the 15th package of sanctions due to Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
84 individuals and organizations have been added to the sanctions list, the European Council said in a statement on the social network X.
The new measures are aimed, in particular, at circumventing sanctions by the Russian shadow fleet and weakening Russia’s military-industrial complex.
Earlier, European Union ambassadors approved the 15th package of sanctions in response to Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.
The sanctions target organizations in Russia and third countries that contribute to Russia’s military and technological strengthening by circumventing export restrictions.
The adopted sanctions also restrict the activities of additional vessels of third countries that work to promote policies that support Russia’s actions against Ukraine, the statement said.
Recall that the 15th package of sanctions against the Russian Federation is to ban 45 Russian tankers from entering EU ports.
