Explosions heard near the shipyard in Kerch

On the morning of December 6, explosions were heard in the temporarily occupied Kerch in Crimea near “Zaliv” shipyard.

This was reported by the “Crimean Wind”monitoring group.

“In Kerch, there is a rumble in the area of “Zaliv” shipyard and some kind of glow is visible in Arshintsevo,” the report says.

Later, it became known that Ukrainian naval drones are making a breakthrough in the Kerch Strait, the Russian military is trying to destroy them from the sea, from the shore and from the air. A powerful EW source was operating near the Kerch Bridge.

“The AIS system data is distorted. The location of the ships is supposedly determined on land, and they are gathering in a characteristic “round dance,” the monitoring group noted.

As previously reported by USM, in November 2023, the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked the “Zaliv” shipyard. Then the Russian ship “Askold”, which is a carrier of “Kalibr” missiles, was damaged. The ship was hit at least three times.

The “Zaliv” Shipbuilding Plant is one of the largest enterprises in Kerch and Crimea, which was founded in 1938. The enterprise specializes in the construction of tankers and container ships, as well as the repair of ships of various types and tonnage. The invaders use the plant to build their own military fleet.
