FAO will hand over modular granaries to Ukrainian farmers
FAO, together with the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine, began accepting applications for modular granaries with a capacity of 300, 500, and 1,000 tons.
The press service of the Ukrainian Ministry told about the initiative of the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
“The main focus will be on supporting small and medium-sized farms in the Kherson region, strengthening the stability and sustainability of the agricultural sector in the region,” the Ministry of Agrarian Policy noted.
In total, FAO and the Ministry of Agricultural Policy plan to distribute 244 modular warehouses. These granaries will be available to agricultural producers who cultivate land in the territory of the Kherson region. The provision of modular storage units will be determined based on the number of applications received and the share of cultivated land.
To participate in the program, farmers must have 100 hectares or more of land in the Kherson region under official cultivation and use the resulting equipment to store their own harvested products. Applications are accepted for three weeks until January 21, 2024.
