Foreign intelligence exposes another captain of the Russian shadow fleet

Ukraine is actively fighting violators of international norms and helping to identify accomplices of Russian military aggression.
The Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine (FIS) continues to expose the activities of the “shadow” Russian fleet, which provides financing for the war against Ukraine. This was reported in the FIS press service.
In particular, the captains of the vessels of this fleet, consciously following the Kremlin’s orders, help to circumvent international sanctions. They turn off automatic identification systems (AIS), transship oil to other vessels, and perform dangerous operations that threaten the environment. In addition, many of these vessels have inadequate insurance, which is a direct violation of international norms.
One of the striking examples is the captain of the Bodhi tanker, Dmitry Bondyuk, who, in violation of international resolutions, carries out illegal transportation of petroleum products. Thus, on January 11, 2025, under his leadership, the tanker left the port of Tuapse with a cargo of Russian oil and headed for Singapore. The tanker is currently moving towards China.

The Foreign Intelligence Service found that Dmitry Bondyuk was born on June 15, 1985 in Novorossiysk. Ukrainian special services have data on the passports, contacts and addresses of the person involved, which will help strengthen personal sanctions against the offender.
Currently, the Ukrainian Foreign Intelligence Service is looking for more than 300 captains of the so-called shadow fleet of the Russian Federation, and their number is constantly increasing. In the near future, Ukraine plans to increase sanctions pressure on both the Russian “shadow fleet” and its captains.
The day before, USM wrote that Zaluzhnyi discussed counteraction to the shadow fleet of the Russian Federation with the Secretary General of the IMO.
