Freight rates decreased due to a decrease in exports

Tariffs for Coaster and Handysize shipments decreased slightly, while Panamax rates remained unchanged.

This is reported by Spike Brokers analysts.

In October, the volume of agricultural exports from Ukraine by water transport increased by 35% compared to September, reaching 2,576.7 thousand tons.

“However, despite the overall increase, the last week of the month was marked by a decrease in export volumes, which created difficulties for shipowners in maintaining freight rates at the previous level,” the analysts said.

Tariffs for bulk carriers and handsize shipments have decreased slightly, while panamax rates have remained unchanged, as have barge rates from Danube ports to Constanta.
