Freight rates from Ukrainian ports remain stable

The stability of rates allows market participants to plan transportation with minimal risks.

Freight rates for grain transportation from Ukraine this week demonstrate general stability with minor changes on individual routes. This was reported by ASAP Agri analyst and Atria Brokers freight broker Pavlo Lysenko.

The resumption of trading activity is observed after the end of industry events, although a significant supply of tonnage in all market segments continues to put pressure on shipowners.

According to the freight department of Atria Brokers, current freight rates for “panamaxes” transporting corn or wheat from the deep-water ports of Odesa to southern China are maintained at the level of 42-44 USD/t.

The freight of “costers” transporting corn from the Danube ports of Ukraine to the eastern coast of Italy is estimated at 30-31 USD/t.

“Handysizes” transporting corn to the east coast of Italy maintain rates at 20-21 USD/t.

Transportation of corn by barge from Reni or Izmail to Constanta remains at 9 EUR/t.

Recently, USM wrote that prices for sunflower oil have decreased in the ports of Great Odesa.
