IMC announced a drop in exports through the ports of the Great Odesa region

The company has already reduced shipment volumes and warns of increased logistics costs at the start of the new marketing year.

This was reported by IMC CEO Oleksandr Verzhykhovsky in a comment to AgroPortal .

According to him, if in January-April 2026 IMC exported an average of 75 thousand tons of products per month, then in May-June this figure decreased to 45 thousand tons. He noted that this is not only due to the seasonal completion of shipments of last year’s harvest.

The company calls the ports of Greater Odessa, which are currently suffering from shelling by the Russian Federation, the main export route. At the same time, alternative transportation through the Danube ports, which IMC used in 2022, costs at least $5 per ton more and takes more time.

In addition, according to Verzhykhovsky, in the current marketing year, logistics costs for rail transportation to ports have already increased by $8–10 per ton. At the same time, the company does not yet take into account a possible increase in Ukrzaliznytsia’s tariffs for freight transportation.

Earlier, it became known that a new Russian attack damaged the Kernel sunflower oil transshipment terminal in the Odesa region.
