In Ukraine, 1.8 million tons of agricultural products were transported by rail at a 30% discount


In Ukraine, approximately 1.8 million tons of agricultural products were transported by rail for export during the 30% discount.

This was stated by Valery Tkachev, Deputy Director of the Department of Transportation Technology and Commercial Work of JSC Ukrzaliznytsia, reports Rail.insider.

Thus, from June 5, 2024 to March 20, 2025, 1.8 million tons were transported by rail within the scope of the reduced tariff for the transportation of agricultural products for export from individual stations.

According to Tkachev, about UAH 1 billion was allocated for the implementation of the project. UAH 311 million of them were spent.

The provision of a 30% discount for the transportation of agricultural products by rail was suspended from March 20.

Earlier, USM reported that the All-Ukrainian Agrarian Council demands the restoration of the discount for the transportation of agricultural products from frontline territories to ports.
