Iran’s ports hit by EU sanctions over Russian military aid
The EU has imposed sanctions on the Iranian ports of Amirabad and Bandar-e-Anzali on the shores of the Caspian Sea.
This was reported on the website of the European Council.
“These additional measures are aimed at vessels and ports used to transport Iranian-made UAVs, missiles and related technologies and components,” the statement said.
In particular, this applies to the ports of Amirabad and Bandar-e-Anzali, which are located on the northern coast of Iran, on the shores of the Caspian Sea.
The Iranian national shipping company IRISL and three Russian shipping companies transporting Iranian weapons: MG Flot, VTS Broker and Arapax were also sanctioned.
Earlier, the USM reported that the EU Council at the level of foreign ministers would consider introducing new sanctions against Iran for the transfer of military technology to Russia.
