Danube ports exported 917.7 thousand tons of agricultural products — 22.9% more than in all of August

Instead, only 25.6 thousand tons of grain passed through the terminals of Great Odesa in 22 days of September.

Export of agricultural products through Danube ports in the first half of September has already exceeded the result of the whole of August. This is evidenced by the data of the weekly review of Spike Brokers.

From September 1 to 24, 917.7 thousand tons of agricultural products were shipped to the ports of the Danube, including Orlivka. In the last seven days alone, 319.3 thousand tons were added, or 45.6 thousand tons per day. Thus, in 24 days the volume exceeded the August result by 22.9%.

At the same time, rail transportation to the ports decreased. In 22 days, about 155.5 thousand tons of grain were transported to port destinations — 29.7% less than a month earlier. Export transport to Izmail amounted to 42.6 thousand tons (-15.1%), domestic – 55.5 thousand tons (-47.1%). That is, the Danube export flow is increasing volumes even with weaker railway support.

The ports of Great Odesa continue to lose. Only 25.6 thousand tons of grain passed through their port stations – 53% less than in August.

The main load is carried by the western border. Of the 603.5 thousand tons of grain exported by rail for export, 503.4 thousand tons, or about 83%, passed through land crossings. For vegetable oil and meal, this figure is even higher – 92% and 94%, respectively.

At the same time, signs of overloading the western direction have appeared. The average daily transfer of grain through the four main crossings for 22 days was 256.4 wagons — 32.9% more than in August, but already 7.8% less than in the first half of the month. The decrease was recorded in all four directions. At the same time, the accumulation of wagons near the border increased to 13,944, of which 3,449 were grain. Over the week, the increase was 22.3%.

In total, from September 1 to 24, Ukraine exported 2.339 million tons of agricultural products worth $1.202 billion. Daily intensity rose to 107.6 thousand tons compared to 89.6 thousand tons a week earlier. Grain exports reached 1.17 million tons, 341 thousand tons of rapeseed were shipped — 144.6 thousand tons of them in the last week alone.

At the same time, demand for Ukrainian products in Europe is growing. COCERAL has lowered its forecast for the EU and UK corn harvest from 52.7 to 48.6 million tonnes due to heat and drought during pollination. EU corn imports have increased by 26.9% since the start of the season to 4.47 million tonnes, while supplies from Ukraine have doubled to 1.4 million tonnes, bringing its share of European imports to 31.4%.
