It became known where the stolen Ukrainian grain is headed – an investigation
In 2023, the Russians exported about 212,000 tons of grain stolen in the temporarily occupied territories of the Zaporizhia region.
Last year, the invaders sold approximately 212,000 tons of stolen Ukrainian grain — worth $46 million. This is stated in the NGL investigation.
Stolen grain was often headed to Turkey, Libya and Israel. In particular, European companies were noticed in illegal actions.
The main exporter of stolen grain is the State Grain Operator (GZO). In 2023, GZO exported 212,000 tons of grain, of which 145,000 tons — directly, and almost 67,000 tons through Russian “padding companies” where GZO is indicated by the declarant.
In particular, the Russians used such companies as Agrogroup, Samson, Tesori Della Terra, Global Trade, and Zhenidi Group to avoid identifying the origin of the grain.
According to the investigation, stolen grain from Ukrainian territories is transshipped at the Kavkaz port on the Taman Peninsula. This makes it possible to indicate Russia as the “country of origin” of grain in customs documents.
The largest buyer of stolen grain is the Turkish company Trans World Agro Tarim Ihracat Ithalat Limited Sirketi, which bought almost 134,000 tons of grain worth $28.6 million.
