Mykolaiv Port is preparing to resume operations

The team of the Mykolaiv seaport does not lose hope for the restoration of work and is already working on projects to improve the service of various types of vessels.

Mykolaiv port is preparing to resume operations. People’s deputy, chairman of the Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy Oleksandr Haydu stated this during a visit to the Mykolaiv branch of State Enterprise “USPA”.

“Ukraine has exported almost 18 million tons of agricultural products by sea since August. Unfortunately, so far only from Odesa ports. Mykolaiv remains outside the “grain corridor”. As a result, hundreds of people are out of work. “Agrarians do not receive funds, because logistics costs “eat up” income from the harvest,” Haydu noted.

According to the people’s deputy, there is still no answer to the question of when exactly Mykolaiv will join the work of the “grain corridor”. It depends on the success of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the Kinburn Spit, the efforts of diplomats and international partners.

“Resumption of work is one of the key tasks that is being discussed at the highest level. We hope it will be solved successfully. This will be a victory for farmers, Mykolaiv, Ukraine, as well as a powerful contribution to our and global food security,” added the head of the committee.
