New base stations opened on the coast of the Black and Azov Seas
Four base stations of the Coastal Radio Station of the A1 sea regions were built on the coast of the Black and Azov Seas.
The Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) has been enhanced with new coastal segment facilities. Four new base stations were built on the coast of the Black and Azov Seas.
This is reported by the Militarny portal with reference to the fiscal enterprise “Marine Poiskovo – Rescue Service”.
According to available information, the following stations are open:
- base station “Nikolaevka” Coastal radio station of sea areas A1, GMDSS in Odesa (Black Sea coast), range – 31 m;
- base station “Lazurnoe” Coastal radio station of sea areas A1, GMDSS in Odesa (Black Sea coast), range – 29 m;
- base station “Berdyansk” Coastal radio station of the sea area A1 GMDSS in Berdyansk (Azov Sea coast), range – 23 m;
- base station “Kirillovka” Coastal radio station of the sea area A1 GMDSS in Berdyansk (Azov Sea coast), range – 30 m.
New automated base stations were deployed within the framework of the strategic goal “Development of the coastal infrastructure of the elements of the GMDSS segment of the SAR system” along the coast of the Black and Azov Seas.
The equipment at the stations was integrated into the existing PELAGUS GMDSS hardware and software complex by Elman Srl. Its task is to provide continuous monitoring and identify emergencies in the sea area A1 of the GMDSS.
