Odesa Port is celebrating its birthday

Odesa Sea Trade Port is 229 years old.

Today, September 2, the Odesa Sea Trade Port is celebrating its anniversary. He turned 229 years old.

The press service of the port noted that for hundreds of years, despite wars and other calamities, the port never stopped its work.

“And today, when the enemy is trying to destroy the port infrastructure of Ukraine, the port workers show true courage, dedication and professionalism, continuing to perform their duties and do everything possible to save the enterprise,” the port management said in a statement.

“We are working and believe in the quick recovery of the maritime industry and the country! – Emphasized at the enterprise, – We wish every port worker health, strength, optimism and the speedy arrival of peace!

Reference: Odesa port is one of the largest in Ukraine and in the Black Sea basin. It is also the only Ukrainian port capable of accepting Panamax class vessels.

The port has 54 berths. The total annual throughput capacity of the port reaches 50 million cargoes. There are 17 terminals operating on the territory of Odesa MTP: 7 universal terminals, 4 grain terminals, 2 container terminals, 2 oil terminals, 1 oil and gas terminal, and 1 refrigerated terminal. Stevedoring services in the port are provided by 15 port operators.
