This was reported by the Minister of Economy Yulia Svyridenko.

According to her, despite the Russian attacks, Ukraine is taking steps to restore global food stability.

“Blocking sea routes, mining Ukrainian lands, attacks on grain warehouses and even shelling trucks transporting grain. This is an attempt to destabilize the world food market, turning food into a weapon,” the minister said.

She also emphasized that Ukraine managed to partially restore Black Sea navigation.

Thus, in 2023/2024, the Republic of Moldova managed to increase the export of wheat to Africa by 40.6%, and sunflower oil by 153.1%. In particular, the main agricultural products were exported to 39 African countries.

“Ports in the Odesa region remain key for the export of Ukrainian grain. However, to ensure global food security, it is necessary to significantly increase the export capacity of all Black Sea ports. It is especially important to restore the functioning of the ports of Mykolaiv and the region. In addition, the security of Ukrainian ports is still the No. 1 issue,” Yuliya Svyridenko emphasized.
