This year, almost nine thousand nautical miles are left behind by the ship “Podillya” of the Maritime Guards.
On Sunday, May 14, the 40th anniversary of the raising of the flag was celebrated on the ship of the Maritime Guard “Podillia”.
“The anniversary is respectable, but thanks to the careful care of the previous and current crews, the ship is still in the uniform of the defenders of Ukraine today, thanks the crew with the reliable operation of all mechanisms,” said the page of the Maritime Guard of the State Border Service of Ukraine on Facebook.
In 2023, the ship traveled almost nine thousand nautical miles, guarding the maritime borders of the state and performing combat missions.
Among the crew members are men of different ages and life experiences. Also, during the year, conscripts practiced military service on board the ship, seven of whom decided to switch to contract service.
Maritime border guards were awarded with thanks and diplomas for their significant contribution to the protection of the state border, conscientious performance of military and official duties, diligence and high professionalism.
“Together to the victory, to the Crimean shores!” – stressed the sea border guards.
As previously reported by USM, at the end of 2022, maritime border guards inspected more than 600 vessels “grain corridor”.
