Polish farmers will block all checkpoints and entrances to ports

Polish farmers plan to block all checkpoints on the border with Ukraine, as well as the entrances to railways and seaports.

In Poland, on February 20, all checkpoints on the border with Ukraine will be blocked. This was повідомила reported by the trade union NSZZ RI “Solidarność”.

“On February 20, as part of the 30-day general farmers’ strike, we announce that the entire protest action will be focused on a complete blockade of all border crossings between Poland and Ukraine and on-site protests,” the message reads.

The trade union clarified that not only border crossings will be blocked, but also communication hubs and entrances to transshipment railway stations and seaports.

The farmers stated that they aim to “guarantee the food security of the country by providing the society with the healthiest and highest quality Polish products.”

It will be recalled that the Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Poland, Michal Kolodzejczak, said that Poland will start a mandatory inspection of all Ukrainian grain that passes through the country in transit.

As previously reported by USM, at the beginning of February, Polish farmers announced a new blockade of the border with Ukraine.
