Ports of Ukraine increased transshipment by almost 70%

In the first half of the year, Ukrainian ports increased transshipment of cargo by almost 70%.

The six working ports of Ukraine increased transshipment of cargo by 68% — up to 52.7 million tons, said the head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy, Danylo Hetmantsev.

More than 63.5% of them are agricultural products, and already more than 36% are other (in particular, production of MMC).

During the same period last year, 31.3 million tons of cargo were handled in Ukrainian ports. At that time, Ukraine was limited by the Istanbul Grain Initiative, within which only agricultural products could be exported from three seaports. In addition, the Russians constantly sabotaged Ukrainian exports, slowing down inspections of ships in the Bosphorus.

We will remind, in just three days of July, Ukraine exported more than 300,000 tons of grain and leguminous crops to foreign markets.
