According to Serhii Gusakov, the Head of the Mariupol branch of the State Enterprise “Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority”, the reconstruction of berth №3 will allow continuing the implementation of a large-scale project for the construction of a grain terminal and will increase the competitive advantages of the Mariupol port. Also, the reconstruction of the berth will increase the transshipment volumes from 600 thousand tons to 1 million tons.
The following works are envisaged under the project for the restoration of berth №3:

The result of the implementation of this project will be a new life of the berth, the operation of which will be extended for another 50 years,” – said the Acting Chairman of the USPA Olexandr Golodnitsky.
According to him, as a result, the carrying capacity of the berth will be strengthened, the depths at the berth will be increased to 9.75 meters, which will allow to accept and handle vessels with a large deadweight, use more efficient loading equipment and technologies, optimize cargo handling conditions for cargo owners, attract new cargo flows and to increase the volume of cargo handling in the Mariupol port.
