Renewal of the Grain Agreement: Zelenskyy reminded Guterres about the drone attacks on Ukrainian ports
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres discussed the renewal of the Grain Agreement.
Zelenskyy and Guterres met within the framework of participation in the general debate of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly in New York the Office of the President reported.
The head of state thanked the UN for efforts to minimize the consequences of full-scale Russian aggression. He also expressed the hope that the Organization will continue to actively help in the prompt response to the urgent needs of Ukrainians in the humanitarian sphere.

The parties also discussed the prospects for resuming the work of the Black Sea Grain Initiative. The President thanked Guterres “for supporting Ukraine’s efforts to ensure the stability of food markets and exports.”
However, Zelenskyy drew the attention of the UN Secretary General to Russia’s use of Iranian drones for attacks on the port and agricultural infrastructure of Ukraine.
USM previously reported that UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres plans to discuss the issue of Ukrainian grain exports and the renewal of the Grain Agreement.
For this purpose, he plans to talk with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov. Guterres will meet with each of the three separately.
