Russia attacked two civilian ships leaving the ports of Odesa region – one person was killed and one was injured


On one of the ships, a crew member was killed and two others were injured, and on the other, three sailors were injured – the ships have already resumed their movement.

On the evening of June 18, Russian strike drones attacked two foreign civilian ships leaving the ports of the Odesa region under the flags of Panama and Saint Kitts and Nevis. This was reported by the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration Oleh Kiper.

On one of the ships, a crew member was killed, and two others were injured. On the ship under the flag of Saint Kitts and Nevis, three sailors were injured, including the second mate – a citizen of Syria, who is receiving medical assistance. Currently, both ships have resumed their movement, and the port infrastructure is operating taking into account the security situation.

“This is yet another proof that Russia is waging a war against freedom of navigation, international trade, and global food security. “The targets are civilian crews, merchant ships, and maritime infrastructure that ensures the operation of humanitarian and export routes,” said Oleksiy Kuleba, Minister for Development of Communites and Territories of.

 Earlier, Russian drones also attacked two vessels under the flags of Barbados and Panama, which were traveling along the maritime corridor.
