Ukrainian seaports have processed 40 million tons of cargo since the beginning of the year

More than half of this volume — more than 20 million tons — is agricultural products, which ensure the food security of dozens of countries around the world.

This result was achieved in the face of constant Russian attacks, said the Minister for Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine Oleksiy Kuleba.

According to him, since the beginning of the year, the enemy has directed more than 1,500 attack drones at Ukrainian ports.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russia has damaged or destroyed 966 port infrastructure facilities and more than 200 civilian vessels. As a result of attacks on ports, 257 civilians have been injured or killed.

Despite all the challenges, the Ukrainian Maritime Corridor continues to operate. The ports ensure stable exports of Ukrainian products, are the backbone of the state’s economy, and maintain Ukraine’s role as an important participant in global logistics and food chains.

“40 million tons is the result of the work of port workers, sailors, railway workers, logisticians, business, the military, and our international partners. Even in wartime, Ukraine ensures the operation of critical infrastructure and remains a reliable partner for the world,” the minister said.

Earlier, USM reported that 197 million tons of cargo were transported through the Ukrainian Maritime corridor.
