Russia launched a nuclear-powered submarine after years of modernization
Russia launched the Irkutsk nuclear-powered submarine after years of modernization.
Now the submarine is being tested. Roman Svitan, a military expert, instructor pilot and reserve colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, told about it.
According to him, the modernized submarine can carry more than 30 cruise missiles, including “Kalibr”, “Onyx” and hypersonic “Tsyrcon”.
Svitan noted that the Russians probably will not use “Irkutsk” for attacks on the territory of Ukraine. Such a boat will not enter the Black Sea.
Earlier, USM reported that Russian multi-purpose nuclear submarines of the Russian Northern Fleet practiced firing near the maritime border of Norway.
