Russia refused to repair warships in Crimea due to the threat of strikes by the Ukrainian Armed Forces
The Russian military no longer repairs its warships at facilities in Crimea due to the danger of Ukrainian attacks.
This was stated by the spokesman for the Ukrainian Navy, Dmitry Pletenchuk, reports “Crimea.Realia”.
“We have already proven in practice that using repair bases for the Russian Black Sea Fleet will no longer work. To restore ships, they must first be brought there, and now no one will do this,” he commented.
During the telethon, the captain of the 3rd rank recalled the recent strikes by Ukrainian forces that caused serious damage to Russian military vessels. In particular, the small missile ship “Cyclone” was destroyed in the Sevastopol Bay, the submarine “Rostov-on-Don” and the missile ship “Askold” in Kerch were damaged.
“These examples suggest to the Russians that it is impossible in principle to use Crimea for ship repairs,” Pletenchuk noted.
According to British intelligence, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have destroyed or damaged more than 25% of the main ships of the Russian Black Sea Fleet. At the same time, despite significant losses, the Russian Black Sea Fleet retains the ability to launch missile strikes from remote positions.
According to the Ukrainian Navy, the losses of the Russian Black Sea Fleet amount to about a third of the ships, which indicates a significant impact of Ukrainian strikes on the combat capability of the Russian fleet.
Earlier, USM reported that SBU naval drones attacked Russian aircraft and ships in the Kerch Strait.
