Shipowners of sanctioned fleet trying to meet with Trump administration, media reports

A representative of the 2Rivers company (formerly Coral), which is considered one of the key players in the activities of the so-called shadow fleet of the Russian Federation, is seeking meetings with the administration of the new US president.

As RBC-Ukraine writes with reference to the founder of the Ukrainian Institute of the Future Anatoly Amelin, Akhmed Kerimov, the financial director of Coral, is currently seeking meetings with the Trump administration in Washington.

“He arrived in Washington to lobby for the continued unauthorized use of 2Rivers/Coral and financing of the war in Ukraine,” Amelin said.

Recall that earlier the British government imposed sanctions against companies and vessels of the so-called shadow fleet of the Russian Federation. At the same time, the companies 2Rivers DMCC and 2Rivers PTE LTD were subject to sanctions.

Earlier, the US also announced large-scale sanctions against the Russian tanker fleet.
