Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office completed the pre-trial corruption investigation at the Odesa Port Plant

The specialized anti-corruption prosecutor’s office completed a pre-trial investigation into corruption at the Odesa Port Plant.

On October 3, the prosecutor decided to complete the pre-trial investigation of the criminal scheme, reports Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office.

It is about the investigation of the people’s deputy of the 8th convocation, whom the investigation considers the organizer of the criminal scheme. Implementation of the scheme during the sale of mineral fertilizers caused losses to JSC “Odesa port plant” (99.57% owned by the state) in the amount of UAH 93.3 million.

We will remind, within the framework of the pre-trial investigation, it was established that in March-December 2015, the People’s Deputy, together with a trusted person, organized a scheme according to which Odesa Port Plant sold mineral fertilizers to a predetermined company at prices lower than market prices.

According to the signed agreements, the private company allegedly resold the company’s products at market prices to foreign companies from the real sector of the economy, although in fact the production was delivered directly by Odesa Port Plant.

After the review of the materials of the pre-trial investigation, it is planned to send the indictment to the VACS for consideration on the merits.

Earlier, USM reported that a new suspect had appeared in the case regarding the embezzlement of UMCC and Odesa Port Plant funds.
