Sybiha: Allied military presence should be on land, in the air, and at sea

Ukraine is consulting with allies on the potential deployment of military contingents.

This was stated by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha during the Question Hour to the Government in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the UNIAN writes.

According to him, no long-term peace agreement is possible without reliable security guarantees.

“Regarding the potential deployment of military contingents, today we are conducting very substantive consultations with allies from the “Coalition of the Resolute,” he noted.

The minister emphasized that today a clear understanding of the capabilities and roles of Ukraine’s partners in the future security infrastructure of Ukraine has already been achieved.

“The military presence of allies should be on land, in the air, and at sea,” Andriy Sybiha emphasized.

Earlier, Foreign Ministry spokesman Georgy Tykhyi noted that the European military contingent in Ukraine, the formation of which is currently being discussed under the leadership of France and Great Britain, should include three components – land, sea, and air.
