The UN offered one of the Turkish banks to become an intermediary for the settlement of the “grain agreement”.
Negotiations on an agreement mediated by the UN, which will allow the safe export of Ukrainian grain through the Black Sea, are scheduled for Wednesday, May 3.
During the meeting, the parties discussed support for the Grain from Ukraine program, as well as the functioning of the Grain Initiative.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that the situation regarding the Black Sea Grain Agreement has reached a “dead end”.
The russians plan to discuss the Black Sea Grain Initiative with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres. Before that, the terrorist country repeatedly threatened to tear up the Grain Agreement.
The Spanish government will allocate an additional 14.5 million euros to Ukraine to continue the development of the global food security program.
Ukraine and the UN World Food Program discussed further implementation of the Black Sea Initiative. The parties also noted the development of alternative logistics routes for Ukrainian grain.
The grain agreement between Ukraine, Turkey, russia and the UN can be extended for another 120 days. The preliminary term of the Agreement expires on March 18.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and UN Secretary General António Guterres spoke in favor of extending the Grain Initiative after March 18, when the term of the previous agreement is coming to an end.
