The best indicators for 10 years were reached by the transportation of grain by railway

Since the beginning of the year, Ukrzaliznytsia has sent over 24.33 million tons of grain cargoes for export.

In 7 months of 2024, more than 24.33 million tons of grain were transported by railway. Valery Tkachev, a representative of JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” reported this on Facebook.

This indicator is the best in the last 10 years. At the same time, more than 20.86 million tons of grain were sent for export. Almost 85% of grain is transported to seaports of Ukraine. On average, 15% of grain is sent to western crossings. In general, land crossings now use only 50% of the capacity.

At the same time, the cost of transporting grain by rail transport is at the lowest level in recent years. So, grain transportation for 500-700 km costs 18-20 dollars per ton.
