The enemy has carried out over 1,000 attacks on the railway since the beginning of the year


In total, more than 2 thousand railway infrastructure facilities in Ukraine have been destroyed or damaged since the start of the full-scale war.

In the first six months of 2026, Russia attacked railway facilities more than 1 thousand times. This is reported by Rail.Insider with reference to the Ministry for Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine.

The data was made public at the Ukraine Reconstruction Conference (URC 2026) in Gdansk, where the Ministry of Development, with the support of the United Nations Development Program, presented the concept of “Resilience as a System”.

The Ukrzaliznytsia space focused on the carrier’s experience of adapting to work under fire. In particular, the installation of a monitoring center recreated the daily work of railway workers to ensure stable transportation.

In total, more than 2 thousand railway infrastructure facilities have been destroyed or damaged since the start of the full-scale war. Earlier, UZ estimated the losses from Russian attacks at over UAH 100 billion.
