The European Commission is preparing new sanctions against Russian vessels

The new EU restrictions will be directed against the so-called shadow tanker fleet of the Russian Federation.

The European Commission plans to introduce sanctions against 11 vessels associated with the Russian Federation. This is reported by Bloomberg.

We are talking about four fuel tankers, two oil tankers, two floating gas storages used for transshipment of LNG in Kamchatka, and a cargo ship.

In particular, the “Andromeda Star” tanker is among the vessels that fall under the restrictions. Earlier, he had an accident in the Baltic Sea, after an investigation, the vessel was found to have an invalid European insurance.

Within the limits, Russian vessels will be prohibited from entering EU ports and anchorage zones. The ban will also apply to insurance and technical assistance. In addition, European providers will be prohibited from carrying out ship-to-ship operations together with Russian vessels.
