The European Commission will involve Ukraine in the negotiations regarding grain imports
The European Commission will hold a meeting with Ukraine and five neighboring countries that have imposed restrictions on the import of Ukrainian grain.
On September 13, the European Commission will hold another meeting within the framework of the Coordination Platform with the participation of Ukraine, Poland, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Romania and Hungary. At the meeting, the issues of Ukrainian grain exports will be resolved, spokeswoman for the European Commission on Agriculture and Trade, Miriam Garcia Ferrer, reported “Ukrinform”.
“The participants of the platform have already met 8 times and will meet again on Wednesday. Within the framework of the platform, we are looking for concrete solutions to increase the capacity of the “paths of solidarity” to identify problems and consider ways to solve them,” Ferrer emphasized.
At the same time, the European Commission is increasing the number of participating countries of the Coordination Platform. Last week, representatives of the Baltic countries and Croatia took part in its meeting, as it is about finding alternative ways for transporting grain. It is also reported that representatives of other interested EU countries will be at the meeting this week.
In total, since the beginning of the “Solidarity Paths”, Ukraine has exported more than 44 million tons of grain, sunflower seeds and related products through the western borders.
