The Grain from Ukraine initiative will become global
Ukraine has agreements with participating countries of the Grain from Ukraine project on overcoming the global food crisis.
“We already have specific agreements with various countries on how to make our initiative to supply food to the poorest countries truly global. We will present all the details soon,” President Zelenskyy said in an evening video message.
He recalled that in a conversation with the President of Israel, he discussed Ukrainian initiatives aimed at overcoming the food crisis. Zelenskyy also invited Israel to join the humanitarian project Grain from Ukraine.
The project envisages that Ukraine directs part of the harvested wheat to purchase for those African countries where there are already problems of hunger. Part of the export grain can be purchased by the states participating in the project. The program aims to provide agricultural products to at least 5 million people by the end of spring 2023.
Earlier, the US government announced the allocation of up to 20 million dollars for the Grain from Ukraine initiative.
