The Middle Corridor is becoming one of the key security routes without Russia, — Ministry of Development

The Middle Corridor is no longer an alternative — it is becoming one of the key security routes without Russia and its blackmail.
This was stated by the First Deputy Minister for Development of Communities and Territories Alena Shkrum during the 10th anniversary event of the Three Seas Initiative Summit.
She noted that the Russian-Ukrainian war is also Russia’s struggle for control over the Black Sea and global trade routes.
Shkrum noted that after 2022, the logistics in the region have changed: the Middle Corridor (Central Asia – Caucasus – Turkey – Black Sea) is no longer an “alternative corridor” — it is becoming one of the key security routes without Russia and its blackmail.
“In the process of moving towards the EU, Ukraine is becoming a gateway to the Single Market. The key thing for us and Europe now is investment: in infrastructure, digitalization and security,” the Deputy Minister noted.
USM previously reported that Ukraine will remain a transit country thanks to its ports on the Black Sea.
