The Ministry of Agriculture of Poland held talks with protesters at the border: details

The Ministry of Agriculture of Poland reached agreements with the protesting farmers and the Ukrainian side.

According to the results of the negotiations, the Ministry of Agriculture of Poland will not apply for the suspension of the transit of Ukrainian agricultural products through its territory. This  was reported  in the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Poland.

For its part, Ukraine promised to temporarily reduce the volume of transit of agricultural products through Poland from April to June 2024.

At the same time, the embargo on the import of grain, corn, rapeseed, sunflower, flour, bran, meal and cake from Ukraine remains in place.

The European Commission also made concessions to farmers. Thus, EU officials abandoned some points of the “Green Agreement”. The protesting farmers are expected to find the revised program satisfactory. Polish farmers will also receive subsidies in the amount of PLN 200/t and PLN 300/t.

As USM wrote the day before, 3 checkpoints on the Ukrainian-Polish border still remain blocked.
