Danube ports plan to raise $35 million for fleet and additional protective infrastructure

Within the framework of the international RELINC project for the development of the Danube ports of Ukraine, they plan to attract $35 million for the purchase of a fleet, protective structures and equipment.
During the Ukrainian Danube Conference, Deputy Minister for Development of Communities and Territories Andriy Kashuba outlined the key areas of development of the Ukrainian Danube region.
According to him, one of the priorities is the integration of the Ukrainian part of the Danube into the European TEN-T transport network. This will allow attracting EU funding for the modernization of infrastructure and the development of inland waterway transport.
Separately, the official emphasized the need to create industrial parks in the Danube region to attract investment and create added value directly near logistics routes.
In addition, the Ministry of Development is working to strengthen the region’s air defense and increase the energy sustainability of port infrastructure.
According to Kashuba, within the framework of the RELINC project, funding in the amount of $35 million is provided for the Danube ports. The funds are planned to be used to purchase a port fleet, protective structures and specialized equipment with the support of international financial institutions.
The Ministry of Development previously noted that cargo flaw through the Danube could decrease to 5 million tons in 2026.
