The sea vessel of UDS “Izmail” will be repaired

Another UDS sea vessel is undergoing major repairs.

“Last fall, after a long bareboat charter, the dry cargo ship “Izmail” was actually abandoned in Bulgaria. Without documents, in terrible technical condition,” the press service of the Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company said.

The UDS had to form a new team, conduct a preliminary technical audit, purchase and repair part of the equipment, issue the documents and permits required for the ship to be repaired.

“For now, it is difficult to say how long the recovery will take. The main thing is that the process has started. We already have successful experience in implementing such projects,” the company noted.

The UDS also expressed hope that the Cabinet of Ministers will leave most of the funds earned by steamship last year to the company. This is necessary for the repair and restoration of the entire UDS naval fleet.

As previously reported by USM, at the beginning of December 2023, the radio navigation and emergency rescue equipment was replaced on the dry cargo “Izmail”.
