The second tanker has already arrived at the Arctic LNG 2 terminal of the Russian Federation
Both vessels tried to hide their names and true location to avoid US sanctions.
The second gas carrier since the beginning of the month docked at the Arctic LNG 2 export terminal in northern Russia. Bloomberg writes about it.
We are probably talking about the LNG tanker Asya Energy. The ship’s transponder shows it in the Barents Sea. However, according to satellite images, the gas carrier is located at a sanctioned plant of the Russian Federation.
Asya Energy is part of the so-called “shadow fleet” of LNG. Moscow uses it to transport sanctioned gas, similar to a group of tankers illegally transporting Russian oil.
The ship is managed by the Indian company Ocean Speedstar Solutions. At the beginning of the month, another vessel of the same company, Pioneer, exported the first cargo from the sanctioned terminal. It also turned off AIS to hide its true location.
It will be recalled that the USA introduced sanctions against “Arctic LNG 2” back in November. Despite the fact that the plant started production in December, it could not export fuel for a long time. And in June, the largest Russian producer of LNG reduced processing to the lowest level since February.
