The US has proposed that Saudi Arabia monitor compliance with the ceasefire at sea

The US has stated that a country is needed that will monitor the observance of the ceasefire in the Black Sea.

This was reported by the Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Ihor Zhovkva during a telethon, writes UNN.

According to him, the Ukrainian side asked the US what would happen if Russia violated the ceasefire at sea, struck the port of Odessa, for example.

“The US is saying that a country or countries are needed that will monitor the situation, record it. They are saying that other countries can do the technical work. The US came out with this proposal to Saudi Arabia. Therefore, every such action of the Russian Federation will be recorded by the monitoring state, whether it is Saudi Arabia or not Saudi Arabia, it does not matter, there must be such a country and then the US, having recorded it, having received such information from the monitor, must take appropriate action,” said Ihor Zhovkva.

He also emphasized that the US is a facilitator of the implementation of such agreements.

As previously reported by USM, during the meeting in Riyadh between Ukraine and the United States, five key results were achieved, including ensuring safe navigation in the Black Sea, a ban on strikes on energy facilities in the Russian Federation and Ukraine, as well as further work on the exchange of prisoners of war and the return of children abducted by Russia.
